A warm welcome to Station Road for today’s FAI National League fixture between Newbridge Town FC and Villa FC. To Villa’s players, staff and travelling supporters — thank you for making the journey, and we hope you enjoy your afternoon in Kildare. “Welcome everyone to today’s National League fixture v Villa FC. I hope you enjoy this historic football event at Station Road. We host our first home competitive game at this level, against visitors who are playing their first ever fixture. We wish them, and all the clubs who have taken the ambitious step to help raise playing standards at their clubs and regions, the very best going forward.
Our inaugural National League game v CK United ended without the result we had hoped for, but in what was a fully entertaining game for the crowd, our players put in a performance that displayed many positives. Today against Villa FC we face a tough team and a new challenge, but I’m sure the lads will do their best to achieve a winning performance. We will look to build on our showing last week, and as I have said to our young squad, the platform the club has given them is both rewarding and demands continued improvement.
Finally, can I applaud all the clubs who have shown initiative in joining the new National League venture — in particular our own club, the board of trustees and committee members. Their decision to lead the way in improving what Kildare can do for this great game, and what real football progress can do for the region, must be supported. Without the backing of the local community and businesses, no club can fulfil its potential. Every successful club has these sections rallying to the cause — they are the real team behind the team. So keep playing your part.
Together, let’s work to make Newbridge Town FC the best club it can be, so everyone can experience the real sporting benefits.”

Recent & Upcoming
The hosts scored two quick goals in the first half through Callum Warfield and Ethan Boyle to lead at half time. Town had chances of their own — Noah Byrne struck the crossbar and Isaiah Phillips had an effort cleared off the line.
Three changes at the break gave Town a different outlet, and it paid off when Eric Munongo halved the deficit shortly after half time — his header the first goal by a Newbridge Town player in the FAI National League. CK matched everything Town threw at them from there and held on for all three points.
A fantastic display from both sides in the league’s opening fixture, played in tricky conditions. Thanks to CK United for their hospitality, and we wish them well for the rest of the season.

From pitch and grounds upkeep to matchday operations, their work keeps our facilities in great condition week after week — often without much notice, but never without our appreciation. Newbridge Family Resource Centre
At Newbridge Town FC, being part of Newbridge means more than what happens on the pitch.
Newbridge Family Resource Centre has been supporting individuals, children and families in our community since 1984. Based in Dara Park, the centre provides family support, childcare, youth and homework clubs, counselling, play therapy and community groups for people of all ages.
Its work is built around a simple vision: “To create a better life for individuals, families and communities in Newbridge.”
As Newbridge Town begins this new chapter in the National League, we want to use our platform to recognise and support the organisations that make a difference in our town every day.
